Visa requirements
Citizens of Germany, Austria and Switzerland do not require
visa. Visitors from other countries are advised to confirm visa
requirements with their travel agent. All visitors must be in
possession of a passport valid for at least six months after
the termination of their visit.
Vaccination
There are no required immunisations. Please seek the advice
of your medical practitioner.
Import of rifles
Bringing your own rifles (two are allowed) to Namibia
is no problem. Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport
near Windhoek please declare the rifle and present your firearms
certificate. The import of hand guns is prohibited. A maximum
of 80 rounds per rifle of ammunition/shot may be imported. Climate
Due to the lack of rain Namibia usually has a very arid
climate. In summer temperatures vary from 18º to 38º
C and in winter from –4º C at night to 20º C
during the day.
Clothing
Light-weight cotton clothing (including shorts) in subdued
colours is recommended. Your European summer hunting attire
is very suitable. Long-sleeved shirts, long pants and lightweight
ankle-length footwear are advisable as a protection against
thorny shrubs.
For the cool morning and evening hours you should also bring
a warm jacket (parka), sweater as well as mittens.
Very important: a wide brimmed hat, binoculars, sunglasses,
sunblock (high sun protection factor) and insect repellent.
TIME
In summer GMT: plus 1 hours – the same as in
South Africa.
